Custom Claude Skills, Plugins & Subagents

Custom Claude Skills and Plugins for Business

Custom Claude skills are saved instructions that teach Claude how your business handles a specific task, so Claude does it your way without anyone explaining it again. We build those skills, bundle them into Claude plugins your whole team can install, and add Claude Code subagents, focused helpers that each take one job, such as checking a release before it ships.

Who are custom Claude skills for?

Custom Claude skills are for teams that already use Claude and do the same kinds of work week after week, like writing posts and proposals or running a checklist before a release. If everyone handles a task a little differently, a shared skill gets them doing it one way.

  • Teams writing posts, proposals or guides that need to sound like one brand
  • Businesses with a repeat process they want everyone to run the same way
  • Owners tired of pasting the same long instructions into Claude again and again
  • Software teams that want Claude Code subagents for jobs like sorting beta feedback or checking a release

If your team isn't using Claude yet, start with a Claude setup and some training. Custom skills pay off once people use Claude every day.

What do you get from Claude plugin development?

You get a Claude plugin built around your business: custom skills, commands and, where they help, subagents and connections to your other systems. Together they give you AI workflows your team can run with one command, with your voice, format and steps built in.

  • Custom Claude skills that teach Claude how your business handles specific tasks
  • Commands your team runs by name, such as drafting a post or building a content calendar
  • A plugin that bundles your skills and commands so everyone installs the same set
  • Claude Code subagents for focused jobs, such as sorting feedback or running a pre-release checklist
  • An MCP server, a connector that lets Claude reach your other systems, when a skill needs their data
  • Hands-on training so your team knows when and how to use each command

How does a custom Claude skills project work?

A custom Claude skills project with LegacyAI Solutions works in four steps: Discover, Design, Build and Deploy, with you in the loop the whole way. It starts with a free 20-minute consult about the work your team repeats, and we ship a first version fast, then improve it as your team uses it.

  1. Discover

A free 20-minute consult, then a scoping conversation about the work your team repeats and how each person handles it today.

  2. Design

We decide which tasks become skills or commands and whether any need a subagent or an MCP connection, then send a written proposal with a fixed price or a range.

  3. Build

We write and test the skills, ship a first version fast and send weekly or biweekly progress updates.

  4. Deploy

We package everything as a plugin your team installs and show everyone how to use it. Ongoing support is available as a monthly plan.

What tools do we use to build Claude skills for business?

We build with Claude and Claude Code from Anthropic, and use the Claude Agent SDK, Anthropic's toolkit for building AI agents, when a job needs several agents working together. When a skill needs data from another system, we connect it through an MCP server.

  • Claude, the AI assistant from Anthropic
  • Claude Code, Anthropic's AI coding tool
  • Claude skills: folders of instructions and files Claude loads when a task calls for them
  • Claude plugins: bundles of skills, commands, subagents and MCP servers your team installs together
  • The Claude Agent SDK, for systems where several AI agents split up one bigger job
  • MCP servers, which connect Claude to your other systems and data

How do skills, plugins, subagents and MCP servers fit together?

A skill is know-how, a plugin is the package, a subagent is a helper with one job, and an MCP server is a connection to your other systems. A plugin can hold all of the other three, which is how a whole team gets the same setup in one install.

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, an open standard Anthropic introduced in November 2024 for connecting AI assistants to tools and data. Claude, ChatGPT and many other tools support it.

What custom Claude plugins and subagents have we built?

We've built a brand voice AI plugin that keeps every draft in one voice, and a set of Claude Code subagents for an app launch, including a release-QA agent that runs a pre-release checklist and makes a go/no-go call.

  • Brand-voice plugin: 4 skills and 6 commands that draft posts, build content calendars, write how-to guides and proposals, repurpose content and research topics, keeping every draft in one brand voice.
  • Release-QA subagent: runs a pre-release checklist on an app and makes a go/no-go call before it ships.
  • Beta-feedback triage and growth outreach subagents: two more Claude Code helpers built for the same app launch. The triage agent sorts the feedback that comes in from beta testers.
  • Multi-agent pipeline: a Claude Agent SDK system that uses Claude Code skills and specialized subagents to research, extract and validate information, then write structured records to a database.
  • Daily AI brief: a scheduled Claude agent that scans AI news, docs and community sources every morning and writes a short brief with sources. It has run daily since March 2026.

Custom Claude skills questions

What is a Claude skill?

A Claude skill is a folder of instructions, plus any files it needs, that teaches Claude how to do one task your way. Claude loads the skill when that task comes up, so nobody has to paste the same instructions into every chat. A custom skill might hold your brand voice, your proposal format or the checklist you run before a launch.

What's the difference between a skill, a plugin and an MCP server?

A skill is know-how: instructions that teach Claude a task. A plugin is a package: it bundles skills, commands, subagents and MCP servers so a team can share and install them together. An MCP server is a connection: it lets Claude reach your other systems, such as a CRM or database, through the Model Context Protocol, an open standard for linking AI to tools and data.

What is a Claude Code subagent?

A Claude Code subagent is a focused helper that Claude Code, Anthropic's AI coding tool, hands one specific job to, with its own instructions for that job. For an app launch, we built subagents for beta-feedback triage, growth outreach and release QA, including one that runs a pre-release checklist and makes a go/no-go call.

What can a custom Claude plugin do for my business?

A custom Claude plugin turns the work your team repeats most into commands anyone can run. The brand-voice plugin we built, for example, has 4 skills and 6 commands that draft posts, content calendars, how-to guides and proposals, repurpose content and research topics, keeping every draft in one brand voice. Yours would follow your own process, format and style.

Can my whole team use the same skills?

Yes. That's the main reason to package skills as a plugin: plugins are built to be shared and installed, so everyone on your team gets the same skills and commands. When one person drafts a proposal and another drafts a post, both follow the same voice, format and steps instead of whatever instructions each person happened to type.

Do I need Claude Code to use custom Claude skills?

Not for skills. Claude skills work in the Claude apps your team already uses as well as in Claude Code, and using them doesn't take any coding. Subagents are different: the ones we've built run in Claude Code, Anthropic's AI coding tool. We'll settle which Claude apps fit your team in the scoping conversation, and we can help with Claude setup if you need it.

Who maintains the skills when Claude changes?

You can, or we can. Skills are mostly plain-language instructions, so someone on your team can read and adjust them when Claude or your process changes. If you'd rather hand that off, ongoing support is available as an optional monthly plan, so we can keep your skills, plugins and subagents up to date for you.

How much does a custom Claude plugin cost?

We don't publish prices, because the cost depends on how many skills, commands and subagents you need and whether they connect to other systems. After a free 20-minute consult and a scoping conversation, you get a written proposal with a fixed price or a range. Payments follow milestones, starting with a deposit, and scope changes go through a written change order, so there's never a surprise invoice.
